Preventing clicks and pops in your YouTube audio (with DaVinci Resolve)
If you leave the audio in your YouTube video projects unedited, it’s easy to cause unflattering clicks and pops to be added into your audio mix as the playhead moves across an audio region boundary.
Luckily, there’s some handy batch editing tools available inside of the free version of DaVinci Resolve that are meant to solve this exact problem.
Batch audio editing to remove clicks and pops
The steps are simple:
In the Fairlight screen, select all of the audio regions inside of your project by click/dragging or hitting command-A.
Under the Fairlight menu, select “batch fade settings”.
Inside the batch fade settings window, turn on fade in, fade out, and crossfade.
Check the fade length, setting the fade in and fade out to 1 frame, and the crossfade to 2 frames.
Hit apply to add the fades to all of the selected audio regions. You can confirm your results by zooming in on the audio regions.
And that’s it-no more clicks and pops inside of your YouTube projects!
