Latency checklist for your home studio

We’re wrapping up our short course on latency in the home music studio today! Here’s your 5 step latency troubleshooting checklist:

1) Adjust the input/output audio buffers in your DAW.

2) Try using low latency mode in your DAW.

3) Use a decent, modern computer with an SSD and 16 GB of RAM or more.

4) Make sure that Plugin Delay Compensation is on.

5) Try using direct monitoring to hear the raw mic directly in your ears during recording.
